Immigrants
This is a generalisation of the UK people’s school of thought (mainly SUN and Daily Mail readers), I must warn its very widespread.
-Why are house prices beyond people’s salaries? This is because of immigrations you see the more demand there is for housing the higher it goes. Kick immigrants out and house prices will come crashing down.
-Why are UK kids among the worst in Europe? This is also due to immigrants. Whilst we were a polite tolerant nation this is no more the case.
-Why are bills and taxes rising? Well you see immigrants just stay at home and sponge of the government leaving us working class people with the tab. Kick out the immigrants and we’ll get taxed less.
-Why are we obese as a nation? Immigrants have introduced us to balti's, curries, chinese...etc. Our traditional dish of beans on toast was cheap and healthy.
-Why is the NHS crap? This has been overloaded with immigrants who do not contribute to the NHS in the first place.
-Why are UK syllabus for GCSE, A-Levels and Universities being dumped down? Immigrants are dumb so we have to be PC (politically correct) and dump down the syllabus for them so they don’t feel out of place.
-Why are we running out of fish? Immigrants like to east fish. Nature stabilises itself through famine, starvation and national disasters but because people are immigrating instead of dying they cause a destabilisation of nature. If we kill the immigrant’s things will go back to normal.
I am sick to death of hearing right wing spooks complaining that immigrants don’t integrate well with the rest of society.Such attitudes are SO hypocritical, considering that most people in Britain don’t even bother to talk to their neighbours in the first place. People in glass houses...

you know what i usually do to people who give me this kinda crap?

As far as to my experiences, there are those who integrate, for ex. who learn the language of the country, who look after good education of their kids, who don't only accept but appreciate the human rights and rules of secular democracy in European constitutions, who practice gender equality, who don't get criminal etc. Oh yeah, I know many of these people, they are clients, friends of mine.
But there are also fundamentalists, conservative believers, wahabities, islamist etc. who want nothing else as to dominate their Muslim fellow countrymen, who say openly, that European constitutions and western lifestyle doesn't fit to Sharia and who want nothing else as to surrender European people, whatever they believe oder not with best arguments, to the Koran, Hadithe etc. and these people are sure, that they only know how Islam is interpreted in the right way.
These people, who comprehend the old books literately and not in the critical historical way (like its done today with the bible), want to exterminate our so called shallow freedom, because of their own weak self consciousness they are unable to live a life by their own chosen private values. They need a religious ideology to rely on or some may have aggressive resentments.
Do you really think its a good idea of these people, to come to Europe? And do You want to live together with these people? They might be your brothers/sisters by race or birth but not by mind, character and values.
I say along to Sir Karl Popper: No tolerance to the intolerance! And Popper was a representative of the enlightenment movement, not an awful neonazi.
We Europeans are waiting for the European, strictly secular Islam, being defined in a genuine European Muslim school, by satisfied and friendly minded academics of Islamic science but not by bullheaded old men in medieval and uneasy regions. The poor reality in their home countries shows the best, what they are really able to effect. o.k.
Buj: No ones really told me any of this to my face and I don't expect that although I wouldnt be surprised if did happen. It just frustates me when I see it in the news and papers.
Russells: Where did Islam feature in my post? I am talking about immigrants not necessary Muslims. Also I hate the word fundamentalists. What does it mean? I went to engineering school and to get accredited with a degree you have to study the fundamentals of engineering, so to be a muslim you need to know the fundamentals of Islam therefore I am classed as a muslim fundamentalist. What did that prove? nothing. Am I a bad man, no.
Surrender European people? you really are paraniod get your head out of those extreme right wing papers every now and then.

the only time i spoke to some of my neighbours is when we lost water for 3 days.. oh except the indian neighbours with the cute baby girl.. they talk to me.

tobasco, you are confusing the term fundamental with the term basic. Fundamental stands for a totalitarian attitude and behavior towards a ideology or religion, never mind witch one and for intolerance towards people of different belief and conscious.
This definition is accepted in historical and social sciences.
P.S. I have no doubt, that you are open-minded. But for example MB has an agenda quiet opposite to yours. I' d appreciate to hear anything different tomorrow or even after tomorrow.
tobasco: Gratulation, you are an observant reader and objects my equalization of immigration in general and Muslim immigration. Let me explain it. Statistics about German immigration expose, that great majority of non-Muslim immigrants intermix in first at least second generation with the resident population by multinational marriage.
Unfortunately we can’t notice a similar development between Muslim and Non-Muslim people. I’m not happy about that fact and wonder why or honestly won’t discuss the issue at this place.
Good luck at your studies. They seem to be interesting. Engineers are to be searched nowadays. And I’m sorry that there are difficulties in getting into contact with old British neighbours.
In comparable situation here in Germany I suggest to my young Turkish clients first to learn the language of the country and second to enter sport clubs or other clubs as greenpeace for example but to avoid bodybuilding studios and similar places. I hope you will have friends soon.
But you should consider as well, that settled family members and non-academics don’t look for contact with students. Students have their own society I think in all countries. In general that won’t change unless you have done your exams.

Ok there are approx. 1.5 billion muslims around the world, how many so-called fundamentalists in comparison? Not that many if you think of it. You are just relaying sensationalised right wing politics from websites, papers and news that you’ve been through. Use you brain and logic to just think about it rationally.

Islam is multinational; Muslims are white, black, brown and whatever skin colour you could possibly want. Islamic countries start from Africa all the way to the Far East of Asia. Think of all the languages that are spoken across these countries.
You are either targeting a specific group, have no idea what you’re talking about or have a different definition of integration than I have.
Again in my case I am married to a muslim woman, I live in the UK. If I were to go by your logic that would put me in the not integrated category because I chose to marry a muslim woman than a white (UK) woman. Does that sound right to you? Again use that brain, think logic and common sense.
I can’t speak for Germany but I have realised that in the UK different ethnic minorities (again not all Muslims) like living next to each other in groups. There are certain area’s for Caribbean’s, certain area’s for Jews, certain area’s for Muslims and so on.

I’ve been in the UK 8 years now, I finished my studies in 2002. Unless maybe somehow I still look like a student, what do you think Buj? maybe that’s why our neighbours don’t chat to us much we might still look like students to them lol
